History
Near the Souchez river, Briois is located in the heart of Northern France’s vast plains. Founded in 1935, the family-owned business is now a benchmark in the molding and packaging of the highest quality butter.
Since its foundation, Briois has continued to uphold traditions while integrating innovation to offer the authentic taste of real butter.
Founded by Gilbert and Paulette Briois, the company began as a modestly sized local butter molder. Driven by the passion for artisanal craftsmanship, the company thrived and has today become an undisputed reference for quality and authenticity in the world of butter.
A family story at the head of the company: Gilbert and Paulette, then Jean-Luc and Béatrice, and now the two brothers, Pierre-Luc and Edouard, who are writing the new chapters of Briois’ butter-packing legacy.
From the first factory located in Violaines, a small village just a few kilometers far from the current production plant, to the multisite expansion following the Belgian acquisition of Agral in 2023, Briois also managed to develop its own brands: Alain Ledanec, Ma Paysanne, Sovaco, and many other names that embody the legacy of our passion and the gastronomic memory passed down through the generations.
